The January meeting was hosted by Grand Prairie ISD, sponsored by Terry Schubert of Hydrotex and Guy Sutherland of Stewart & Stevenson. As with the usual January meeting, a great BBQ lunch was provided, with the tasty morsels coming straight from Stewart & Stevenson’s rolling BBQ emporium.


A special program was presented by the Dallas ISD Special Response Team, with information about planning and training for various terrorism and danger threats to schools and students. As explained by Team Leader Lt. Bruce Weaver, “When it’s time to perform, time to prepare has passed.”










Grand Prairie Transportation Director Phil Gurke welcomed members to Grand Prairie.


Vendor reps, Dwight Gleave, Hydrotex, and Guy Sutherland, Stewart & Stevenson.


NTAPT Secretary Rhonda Davis solicited membership information for planned NTAPT member directory.


Kevin Vollweiler, Frisco ISD provided information on TASBT and TAPT training classes scheduled for January 21st and 22nd

Chris Kanouse was introduced as assuming responsibilities of Lou Autrey as she retires from Region 10, and provided an update on changes to school bus driver training services.


Lt. Bruce Weaver, DISD PD Special Response Team, briefed members on terrorism threats and response training.
